How this review was made: This is a research-based review. Plan details and prices come from Hostinger’s official web hosting page, checked as of Oct 2026. We have not run long-term speed or uptime tests, so you won’t find a score or benchmark numbers here.

Verdict

Who it’s for: people launching a first WordPress blog, affiliate site or small-business site who want low running costs and don’t mind committing to a multi-year term.

Who should skip it: anyone who needs monthly billing at the advertised price, or who already knows they need a VPS, a staging-heavy developer workflow or enterprise support.

Hostinger is built around one trade: a very low first-term price in exchange for paying several years up front. If you go in knowing the renewal price, it’s one of the cheapest ways to get a site online with a domain, SSL and email included in year one.

What Hostinger is

Hostinger is a web host offering shared (managed) web hosting, cloud hosting, VPS hosting and domains. For a solopreneur the relevant product is its managed web hosting, which runs on LiteSpeed servers and includes Hostinger’s own control panel, hPanel. Hostinger says the plans support WordPress, PHP/HTML sites, a drag-and-drop builder and Node.js.

Plans and prices (as of Oct 2026)

Hostinger’s web hosting page lists three plans. All prices below are the per-month equivalent of a 48-month term paid up front, as shown on hostinger.com on our check date.

PlanIntro price48-month totalRenews at
Premium$2.99/mo$143.52$10.99/mo
Unlimited$3.99/mo$191.52$16.99/mo
Cloud Startup$7.99/mo$383.52$25.99/mo

Hostinger states that “all plans are paid upfront” and that the monthly rate is the total divided by the number of months. Shorter terms are available at checkout, but the page we checked only advertised the 48-month price, so we haven’t listed shorter-term rates here.

Premium

  • 3 websites
  • 20 GB SSD storage
  • Free weekly backups
  • Free domain for 1 year
  • 2 mailboxes per website, free for 1 year
  • CDN and AI tools

Unlimited

  • Unlimited websites (subject to Hostinger’s Fair Usage Policy)
  • 50 GB NVMe storage
  • Daily backups with restore
  • Unlimited mailboxes per website, free for 1 year
  • AI email marketing free for 1 year

Cloud Startup

  • Unlimited websites
  • 100 GB NVMe storage
  • Daily and on-demand backups
  • Positioned by Hostinger for agencies and higher-traffic projects

What every plan includes

According to Hostinger, all managed web hosting plans include:

  • Free SSL certificate, installed automatically
  • Malware scanning
  • Domain privacy
  • IP and country blocking
  • Free, unlimited website migrations with support from its team
  • 24/7 support, which Hostinger describes as multilingual
  • A 30-day money-back guarantee

Hostinger also notes that all hosting plans except its Single plan come with a free domain when you buy one year or longer. Single wasn’t listed on the main web hosting page we checked.

The real cost: intro vs renewal

This is the part most reviews skim past. Using Hostinger’s own numbers, here’s what Premium costs over time:

  • First 48 months: $143.52 total
  • After that: $10.99/mo, or about $131.88 per year at that rate

So the “$2.99” plan becomes roughly a $11/month plan once the first term ends. That’s still in a normal range for shared hosting, but you should budget for it. The same pattern applies to Unlimited ($3.99 → $16.99) and Cloud Startup ($7.99 → $25.99).

Also remember that the free domain and free mailboxes are first-year offers. From year two you’ll pay the domain registrar’s renewal rate and any email costs.

Features that matter for a solo site

WordPress setup

Hostinger offers a one-click WordPress installer and describes LiteSpeed caching and object cache as part of its WordPress optimisation. It also advertises “Hostinger Agent”, an AI assistant it says can build a WordPress site, set up domains and DNS, and fix common issues through chat. We haven’t tested the agent, so treat it as a convenience feature rather than a reason to buy.

Developer access

hPanel includes SSH, WP-CLI, PHP version control, Git integration and a MySQL manager, according to Hostinger’s FAQ. That’s useful if you outgrow a pure point-and-click setup.

Email marketing

Hostinger now bundles an email marketing tool called Hostinger Reach (“AI email marketing”). On Unlimited it’s listed as free for one year. If email is central to your business, compare it with dedicated tools in our best email marketing tools roundup before relying on it.

Hostinger pros and cons

Pros

  • Very low cost for the first multi-year term
  • Domain, SSL, backups and mailboxes bundled in year one
  • Free migrations and a 30-day refund window lower the risk of trying it
  • Developer tools (SSH, Git, WP-CLI) are available on managed plans

Cons

  • Renewal prices are roughly 3–4× the intro price
  • The cheapest plan has weekly, not daily, backups
  • “Unlimited” is subject to a Fair Usage Policy
  • The best price needs a long commitment

Hostinger vs the alternatives

The obvious comparison is Bluehost, which targets the same buyers and also leans on low intro prices. We break that down in Hostinger vs Bluehost. If you’d rather not manage hosting and WordPress at all, an all-in-one builder may suit you better; see our best website builders for small business.

How to decide

  1. Will you run more than three sites? If yes, Premium is out; look at Unlimited.
  2. Do you need daily backups? If yes, Unlimited is the minimum.
  3. Can you pay four years up front? If not, check the shorter-term price at checkout before you commit, because it will be higher than the advertised rate.
  4. Have you budgeted for renewal? Use the renewal figures above, not the intro price.

FAQ

Is Hostinger good for a beginner WordPress blog? On paper, yes. The Premium plan covers a first blog with a domain, SSL and backups included, and the 30-day refund window gives you time to change your mind.

How much does Hostinger cost after the first term? As of Oct 2026 Hostinger lists renewal at $10.99/mo for Premium, $16.99/mo for Unlimited and $25.99/mo for Cloud Startup.

Can I move an existing site to Hostinger? Hostinger says it offers free, unlimited migrations with no downtime, handled through hPanel or by its support team.

Does Hostinger include email? Premium includes 2 mailboxes per website and Unlimited includes unlimited mailboxes, both free for the first year.

Bottom line

Hostinger is a sensible, low-cost home for a new solo website, as long as you plan around the renewal price. Choose Premium for one to three small sites, or Unlimited if you want daily backups and room to grow.
